CASSOPOLIS – New laws passed in Michigan require food service establishments to employ certified food managers by June 30, 2009.
This applies to all individuals who act as the food protection manager at restaurants or other food service operations, schools where food is prepared and public events where food is prepared and served.
Michigan State University Extension of Cass County will conduct a ServSafe course to provide the required training, knowledge and preparation needed to take the ServSafe Food Production Manager Certification Exam leading to certification.
The course will take place on March 23 and 30.
Participants must attend both sessions to be eligible to take the certifying exam.
Classes will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will take place at 120 N. Broadway, room 210, Cassopolis, (the County Building or 1899 courthouse).
The cost to attend is $200 per person.
Register before March 9 to avoid a $25 late fee.
The fee includes all course materials, course book and exam fee.
