Bensen O. Johnson, 69, of Elkhart, Ind., died on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, in his home after a bout with cancer.
He was born in Dowagiac on March 15, 1930, to Lynn R. and Evelyn (Lieber) Johnson. He graduated from Dowagiac High School in 1957.
On June 6, 1958, he married Mary Jo (File) Johnson in Dowagiac.
He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Johnson, and four children, Bonnie Johnson of Fort Smith, Ariz., Jeff (Judy) Johnson of Cassopolis, Mike (Marti) Johnson of Old Hickory, Tenn., and Dave Johnson of Elkhart.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Kyle and Valerie Johnson of Cassopolis and Trent and Carrie Johnson of Old Hickory, Tenn., and a sister, Pam Cour of Mecosta.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn R. Johnson.
There will be no funeral service.
