Cassopolis too much for Edwardsburg cagers

CASSOPOLIS – Nick Davis, DaShaun Curtis and Raymond Nelson combined for 40 of Cassopolis' 74 points in a big win over arch rival Edwardsburg Thursday night.
The Rangers outscored the Eddies 61-42 over the first three quarters en route to a 74-55 Lakeland Conference victory.
Cassopolis led 21-11 after one period of play and 36-27 at halftime.
The Rangers scored 22 points in the third quarter while holding Edwardsburg to 15.
Davis finished with 18 points, while Curtis had 14 and Nelson 10.
Jake Harroff of Edwardsburg led all scorers with 21 points. Brian Sevison finished with 16 points.

BRIDGMAN – The host Bees used a 24-6 scoring advantage in the second quarter Thursday night to build a 20-point halftime lead and then held on for a 63-53 Lakeland Conference victory over Buchanan.
The Bees led 14-12 after eight minutes of play, but exploded for 24 points in the second quarter to take a 38-18 advantage into the second half.
The Bucks (3-3, 2-3 Lakeland) fought back, outscoring Bridgman (7-3, 5-1 Lakeland) 35-25 over the final two quarters, but just couldn't make up the difference from the early deficit.
Buchanan shaved the lead down to 10 points (45-35) heading into the fourth quarter, however, both teams scored 18 points in the period.
The Bucks were able to cut into the Bridgman lead thanks to foul trouble for the Bees.
Buchanan had the lead down to five points with two minutes remaining in the contest, but the Bees hit 6-of-11 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.
Richie Reed led the Bucks with 15 points, while Clinton Orr added 14 and Marquis Tyler nine.
Buchanan's top scorer, Derek Anglero was held to five points by Bridgman.
Conner Magro led the Bees with 15 points. Bridgman also got 12 points from Zane Copeland and Michael Kamp, while Tyler Groth added 10.
