When you call 911 in Cass County, you are speaking with EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatch)-trained dispatchers at the Cass County Dispatch Center.
"While trying to express how excited CEMS is to have our own (seven-digit calls) answered by EMD dispatchers, I misspoke and implied that Cass County dispatchers were not EMD-trained," Cassie Sikes of Coloma Emergency Medical Service said Wednesday.
"All Cass County dispatchers are EMD-trained and all 911 calls in Cass County go to Cass County Dispatch Center.
"The Cass County dispatchers do a fine job and we at CEMS value our working relationships with them and the Cass County Sheriff's Office," Sikes said. "I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have been offended by what I said. That was not my intent."
