Preston's life began on Nov. 2, 1941, in Clay County, Ky., the son of Jim and Corinne Collett.
He was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Sizemore on Jan. 20, 1962, in Clay County, Ky.
Preston worked for Fryman Construction for 30 years as a foreman on a roofing crew.
He was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church and enjoyed football and squirrel hunting.
Preston enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Ginger.
His greatest joy was his family which includes his loving wife Evelyn Collett of Sister Lakes; children, Teresa ( John Miller) Bogatitus of Cassopolis, Tammy (Jeff Crume) Sizemore of Edwardsburg, Terri (Gilbert) Griffin of Millersburg, Ind., and Preston (Misty) Collett of Dowagiac; grandchildren, Frankie, Michael, Ryan, Gary, Angel, Nicki, Russell, Carla, Carl, Seth, Jeremiah, Brandi, Patty, Brandon, Payton, Lucas and Nathaniel; one great-grandchild, Natalie Belcher; sisters, Juanita Hensley and Candy Weller; brothers, Bruce Collett, Lee and George Miracle.
Preston, 67, of Sister Lakes, passed away at his home on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009.
He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Princess Leiting.
His family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Apostolic Lighthouse Church, where his funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. led by Pastor David Helmuth.
Preston will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
