Chieftain freshmen, JV cagers fall to Lady Vikings

Visiting Niles completed a sweep of the Dowagiac girls' basketball program Monday night by winning the freshmen and junior varsity contests.
Freshmen Basketball
Niles defeated the Chieftains 45-20 as Savannah Sullivan and Michelle Briand both scored 12 points to lead all scorers.
The Lady Vikings also got eight points from Anne Tyler and six points from Taylor Brandstatter.
Dowagiac was led by Jacoya Brookins' nine points. The Chieftains also got five points from Meghan Hojara and four points from Rylie Cox.
Dowagiac will be back in action on Thursday as it returns to Wolverine Conference play against visiting Comstock.
Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
JV Basketball
Alexis McIntee poured in a game-high 18 points as Niles defeated Dowagiac 56-21.
The Lady Vikings also got 11 points from Taylor Glick and nine points from Savannah Wolnik.
Dowagiac was led by Breneesha Jones' eight points. Correshia Rodgers added four points.
The Chieftains will host Comstock on Thursday night beginning at 5:45 p.m.
The varsity contest is slated for 7:15 p.m.
