David's life began June 19, 1943, in Rome, N.Y., the son of John B. and Lillian (Pugh) Hmurovich.
David, 65, of Dowagiac, was an employee of LTV Steel for 36 years, retiring in 2001.
He then worked for AM General in Mishawaka, Ind., for two years as an electrician.
David loved to bowl. When he was a young man, he was a state champion tennis player in Indiana.
He enjoyed watching sports and spending time with his friends.
David was a member of the Cass County VFW Post 1855, the Dowagiac Moose Lodge and the Dowagiac Elks Lodge.
His family includes: his children, David (Tania) Hmurovich of San Antonio, Texas, Candace (Steve) Schriber of Denver, Jennevera Shivley of Lafayette, Ind., Kristina Santana of Dowagiac, Jonathan Hmurovich of Hammond, Ind., Daniel Shivley of Whiting, Ind., and Ashley R. Hmurovich of Dowagiac; seven grandchildren; a sister, Gwen Arbuckle of California; and a brother, Bernard Hmurovich of Minnesota.
David passed away at his home on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008.
He is preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, Richard Hmurovich.
His family is being served by McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home.
