Arthur Antol Tecsi, 63, of E. Winn Road, Niles, died at home at 5:53 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, unexpectedly, but of natural causes.
He was born Jan. 20, 1945, in Gary, Ind., to Arthur Raymond Tecsi and Rose Tarkany.
He lived in Niles since 1987, coming from Massachusetts.
He was employed with Norfolk Southern Railroad in Elkhart, Ind.
Mr. Tecsi was a Vietnam-era veteran who served in the U.S. Navy.
He was an avid fisherman and gourmet cook and volunteered with the Democratic Party.
He was an artist and musician, playing guitar, saxophone and piano.
On Jan. 11, 1991, in Cassopolis, he married Denise Lynn (Booth) Tecsi.
His wife survives, along with: two daughters, Kim Morris and Sharon Tecsi, both of Vero Beach, Fla.; a son, David Tecsi of Vero Beach; a step-daughter, Shannon Lynn Pelley of Niles; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose Robison of Portage, Ind., and Vida Berry of Valparaiso, Ind.; and three brothers, David Tecsi of Fitchburg, Mass., Elliott Tecsi of Argos, Ind., and Raymond Tecsi of LaPorte, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.
Pastor William J. Pollock of Apostolic Christian Tabernacle of Niles will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
A flag presentation and taps by American Legion Post 26 of Niles follow the service at the funeral home.
