CASSOPOLIS – On Friday and Saturday of this week, the Department of Human Services plans to distribute Toys for Tots to needy kids in Cass and St. Joseph counties.
Based on their preliminary count, they expect to have parents of about 2,000 kids coming to Jones and hoping to receive a couple gifts for each of their kids.
Monday afternoon Margaret Shultz received a message from the sergeant in Battle Creek who is in charge of Toys for Tots in this region and he doesn't have enough toys to meet their need.
Can you help? They are looking for new, unwrapped toys for children from birth to age 14. If you e-mail her at shultzm@michigan.gov with your location, she can let you know where the nearest Toys for Tots drop site is, or bring donations to the DHS office.
Thank you for anything you can do to help.
