Fourth quarter rally falls short

EDWARDSBURG – A furious fourth quarter rally came up short for the Edwardsburg girls' varsity basketball team Tuesday night.
The Lady Eddies poured in 21 fourth quarter points, but ended up on the wrong side of a 47-44 non-conference setback at the hands of visiting White Pigeon.
White Pigeon had built up a 35-21 lead heading to the final quarter.
The Lady Chiefs led 10-8 after one period of play and 24-13 at intermission.
But in the fourth quarter is was all Edwardsburg as the Lady Eddies held a 21-12 advantage in scoring.
Steffany and Ashley Streb combined for 40 of Edwardsburg's 44 points. Leslie Boyles had the other four points for the Lady Eddies.
Morgan Gropp led a balanced White Pigeon offense with 15 points.
Nikki DeMeyer added 13 points, while Emily Abbs scored 10 points.
The Lady Eddies are back in action tonight as they travel to Berrien Springs for a Lakeland Conference contest.
