Thanks to a $3,000 donation raised by the 2008 Lee Memorial Foundation Golf Outing, the laboratory at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital now owns a state-of-the-art plasma-thawing machine.
The machine thaws plasma for surgery or emergency care in as fast as 15 minutes, which is essential for lifesaving treatment in critical situations.
"We wish to sincerely thank the Lee Memorial Foundation, along with this year's golfers and sponsors," said Joy Strand, administrator and chief operating officer, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.
"Once again, the generosity of our foundation and our community has enabled us to continue offering the very best technology and high-quality care."
