CASSOPOLIS – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single-vehicle, personal-injury traffic crash on Friday, Dec. 5, at approximately 10:30 p.m. The crash occurred on Library Road near Jefferson Center Street in Jefferson Township. Initial investigation at the scene determined that Christopher Glon, 23, of Cassopolis, was northbound on Library Road. Glon was driving too fast for icy road conditions and lost control of his vehicle, crossed over the southbound lane, ran off the road and struck a tree.
Glon was airlifted from the scene by Med-Flight to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., for treatment of his injuries.
Glon had been admitted to the intensive care unit of Memorial Hospital.
Glon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and alcohol appears to have been a factor, deputies said.
