Ardith, 83, of Dowagiac, was born on July 4, 1925 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Lloyd and Emma (Bower) Strome.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and great-grandmother.
Ardith worked for Consolidated Die Cast in Dowagiac for many years and for James Heddon's Sons.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Dowagiac and a member of the Antlerettes at Dowagiac Elks Lodge 889.
She loved to bird watch and enjoyed nature.
She enjoyed taking drives down the back roads and camping.
Ardith loved flowers and was especially fond of baby's breath.
Her greatest joy was her family, which includes: her two sons, Donald Wiemuth of Niles, and Dale (Sandi) Wiemuth of Cassopolis; her two daughters, Jackie (Wiemuth) Rinehart of Mishawaka, Ind., and Carol (Wiemuth) Baker of Cornelius, N.C.; one brother, Raymond (Donna) Strome of Cassopolis; and one sister, Suzanne (Donald) Joiner of Collinsville, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ardith passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at the Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis.
She is preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, William, Harland and Terry Strome; and one son, David Wiemuth, in 2007.
Her family will gather with friends on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McLauchlin-Clark Funeral Home, where her memorial tribute will begin at 1 p.m.
She will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.
