DECATUR – The 28th annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29, at Decatur Middle/High Schools.
The Decatur Athletic Boosters are proud to sponsor this community event to kick off the holiday season. Show time is 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
The show has many unique Christmas decorations, stocking stuffers or one-of-a-kind gifts for family and friends.
It is one of the largest arts and crafts shows in the area and has been a great success over the past 27 years.
They have several new crafters exhibiting this year, along with their many regulars.
Crafters travel to Decatur from many different communities throughout Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. This show has something for everyone.
Not interested in handmade crafts? There are several vendors with homemade items, such as maple syrup, barbecue sauce, apple cider, fruit cakes, cinnamon-roasted almonds and jerky.
The Presbyterian Woman's Association will have its annual raffle and bake sale.
Jan Roeder will have available her cookbook, "Potluck V," with proceeds donated to Decatur Human Services.
Also, the Hamilton Grange Hall Committee will be having a quilt raffle, with all proceeds going to restoration of the historic Hamilton Grange Hall.
The show was started by sisters Paulette Rybarski and Debora Pike in 1980. They wanted to bring a Christmas arts and crafts show to Decatur and, at the same time, benefit a local organization.
All proceeds from the show go directly into the Decatur Athletic Boosters general fund and are used to purchase uniforms and equipment for all Decatur athletics.
Lunch will be served throughout the day.
A large menu is being planned that includes homemade soups, chili, sandwiches and desserts.
Tina Leary chairs the luncheon.
