6:30 p.m. – Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Sister Lakes, book/movie discussion is on "Anatomy of a Murder" to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the book written by Robert Traver (aka John Voelker) about an Upper Peninsula murder trial. A movie of the book was made in 1959 starring James Stewart, Ben Gazzara, Lee Remick and George C. Scott. Both the book and movie won numerous awards and were bestsellers. Come prepared to discuss the book and/or movie and the UP location and characters. Recent photos of the murder and movie locations will be compared to the film images. Next program: Wednesday, Dec. 10, 6:30 p.m., coffee table books. Book-movie discussions are sponsored by the Adult Social Committee at Sacred Heart. 5 p.m. – Join Keeler United Methodist Church, corner of C.R. 687 and Territorial Road East, for a traditional turkey dinner until 7. Menu includes: turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, vegetable, rolls, beverage and dessert. Take-out available. Donations accepted.
