Legends Tour headed to Blackthorn in 2009

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Legends Tour, Official Senior Tour of the LPGA, announces an addition to its 2009 calendar with a charity golf tournament benefiting Life Treatment Centers.
Thirty-two Legends of the LPGA will tee it up at Blackthorn Golf Club for a pro-am and a two-day Legends competitive event May 28 – May 31.
In addition to the Pro-Am and Legends Tournament, a one-day community clinic will be held at the course showcasing the swings of various Legends Tour professionals.
Active on the Tour are Hall of Famers Pat Bradley, Patty Sheehan, Amy Alcott, Beth Daniel and Nancy Lopez.
Other Legends such as Jane Blalcok, Rosie Jones and Legends Tour Career Money List leader Jan Stephenson enjoy the competition and camaraderie of The Legends Tour.
LPGA Legends from the Midwest such as two-time British Open winner Debbie Massey and Jackson, native Elaine Crosby will add local appeal to a dynamic field drawing from across the nation.
General Manager and PGA Golf Professional Rick Reid is thrilled to bring The Legends Tour to South Bend.
"We're very excited with the opportunity to showcase these legendary lady professional golfers to the Michiana area, while raising money for a wonderful charity, the Life Treatment Centers," he said.
