Lady Bucks finish 22nd at state finals

BROOKLYN – The Buchanan girls' cross country team finished 22nd at the Division 3 State Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway.
Benzie Central was the Division 3 champion with a team score of 91. Leslie was second with 120, Allendale third with 122, Jackson Lumen Christi fourth with 164 and Hanover-Horton with 178.
The Lady Bucks finished with a team score of 540.
Torrie Eger led Buchanan with an 18th place finish and a time of 19:24.8.
Elizabeth Hein was 49th (20:18.8), Alyssa Kruchkow 149th (22:41.8), Ashlyn Pastryk 161st (23:11.8), Courtney Adolph 163rd (23:22), Ashley Best 167th (23:40) and Chelsea Adolph 171st (23:44.9).
Niles' Mark Calhoun grabbed 44th place in the Division 2 race with a time of 16:23.1.
Edwardsburg's Josh Clark finished 157th with a time of 17:28.6.
Red Kamyszek of Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills was the overall winner with a time of 15:32.2.
Linden was the Division 2 boys' champion with a score of 59 points, while Vicksburg was second with 174, Otsego third with 191, Chelsea fourth with 215 and Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern with 222.
Niles' Madie Rodts finished 111th with a time of 20:05.2.
Milan's Jordain Tomecek was the Division 2 girls' champion with a time of 17:40.4.
East Grand Rapids took the team championship with 98 points.
Grand Rapids Christian finished second with 166, Williamston third with 168, Gaylord fourth with 208 and Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern fifth with 239.
