The Dowagiac junior varsity football team defeated visiting Vicksburg 29-6 on a night where only half of Chris Taylor-Alumni field was illuminated.
The lights on the home side of the field were not working due to an electrical problem, but it was still bright enough to get the game in.
The Chieftains played well on both sides of the football according to coach Matt Alward.
Defensively, the charge was led by Chris Craft, who picked off a pass.
Michael Bennett led the offensive charge with a good night running the football and scoring a touchdown.
The Chieftains also a late field goal by Cody Carnell to cap the scoring.
"We finally put it together tonight a little bit," Alward said. "We played a great game defensively. Offensively, all of our backs ran the ball hard. Everybody gains some yards.
"I will tell you that Mike Bennett made some great runs. He made some people miss and was running the ball hard," he added.
