DECATUR – Volinia Baptist Church, 19526 Marcellus Highway, cordially invites everyone in the community to a dedication service for the new Volinia Baptist Church building on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Sunday school dedication service, 9:45 a.m.; and morning worship dedication service, 11 a.m. The dedication service is designed for all age groups.
Volinia Baptist Church was founded in 1858 and so has been in the community for more than 150 years.
During that 150-year history there have been many families in this community who have contributed to the success of the ministries of Volinia Baptist Church.
Many more families have been touched by the ministries of Volinia Baptist Church.
The first structure of Volinia Baptist Church was built in 1882 on half an acre of land. In 1955, a room was added on the south side of the church building.
An educational wing with Sunday school rooms was added on the east side of the building in 1959. In 1970 an additional half-acre of land was purchased and a new auditorium was built in 1977.
The new church facility is located about a half-mile east of the old building on Marcellus Highway. The new church facility of 21,660 square feet sits on 40 acres of land.
It includes a half-court gym, youth room, 11 classrooms, a preschool, a nursery and five offices. The new sanctuary seats 299 persons.
For all this they give the Lord Jesus Christ the glory, honor and praise. Because of this power and blessing Volinia Baptist Church remains debt-free.
