DECATUR – Van Buren Regional Genealogical Society (VBRGS) will host a program entitled "Finding Your Ancestors' Records in Washington, DC."
This public program will be presented by Judith Huber Halseth, Ed.D., Monday, Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. at the Webster Memorial Library in Decatur.
The presentation will be an overview of genealogical records and research methods at three of our capital's top records repositories: The DAR Library (Daughters of the American Revolution), National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and the Library of Congress.
Handouts provided to those in attendance will include material useful for "stay-at-home" family historians, as well as for those planning to visit Washington, D.C.
Participants will also receive a complimentary copy of "New England Ancestors" magazine.
Halseth serves as Trustee for the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
