Just two months after accepting the job as the Edwardsburg boys' basketball coach, Marc Comstock has resigned to return to Adrian High School.
Comstock accepted the Eddies' job after Adrian had eliminated his teaching position.
The school contacted Comstock last week and told him he was being recalled to teach physical education and he would remain the basketball coach.
Comstock informed Edwardsburg athletic director Kevin Dean by e-mail on Aug. 11 that he had been offered the position at Adrian.
The following day, Comstock accepted their offer and called Dean to let him know.
"Obviously we are disappointed," Dean said on Monday. "I feel bad for the kids. But I also understand Marc's situation. He is a single parent and must do what's best for his family."
Dean said that Edwardsburg superintendent Sherm Ostrander informed the players on Friday of the situation.
"We are going to hit the ground running," Dean said. "We will get somebody in here as soon as possible."
