Mr. and Mrs. James Swartzell of Niles announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Kay to Erick Joshua Cabrera, son of Lorna Cabrera and Dr. Ed Cabrera of Morton Grove, Ill.
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Windsor High School in Windsor, Conn. and is a graduate of Salisbury State University in Salisbury, Md. The bride earned a M.A. in education from the University of New Haven in New Haven, Conn. She is a Chicago Public Schools second grade teacher.
Grandparents of the bride-to-be are the late Gordon and Helen Dorman, formerly of Niles and Maxine Swartzell of Ligonier, Ind. and Raymond Swartzell of Ocala, Fla.
The prospective groom is a graduate of North Ridge Prep in Niles, Ill., and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind. He is employed by Kraft Foods as a senior financial analyst in Northbrook, Ill.
Grandparents of the prospective groom are Rosa Araneta and the late Tomas Araneta of Morton Grove, Ill.
Vows will be exchanged on Aug. 16, 2008 at St. Mary of the Angels in Chicago. A reception will follow at European Crystal Ballroom in Arlington Heights, Ill.
