NILES – The Niles North Plaza Summer Festival will be held Saturday, July 19, at 1221 S. 11th St. from 9 am until 2 pm. There will be an Honor Wall acknowledging local veterans, hot food and cold drinks, tons of games for all ages, arts and craft vendors during this event. Door prizes from local businesses will be given away. The public is invited to bring photos of the veterans they care about for the Honor Wall.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and its backpack program specifically. The backpacks contain essential care and comfort items including clothing, toiletries, calling card, CD player, and playing cards, all designed to make their hospital stay more comfortable. Other service programs provided by Wounded Warriors projects include: Patient and Family Support, WWP Outdoors, Wound Warrior Disabled Sports Project, Coping Services and support services for Veterans.
