NILES – On June 18 and 19 the Niles Garden Club held their second show in 16 years titled "Seasons in the Sun."
The show was hosted by the Niles District Library.
The show was open to everyone for participation and drew local exhibitors as well as exhibitors from Kalamazoo and Holland.
Exhibitors brought the very best cut flowers their gardens had to offer as well as their potted indoor and outdoor plants for judging in the Horticulture division.
The Design division brought the talents of 20 or more designers together to provide 36 exceptional interpretations of each of the design classes.
"Kids Growing Kids," the youth group sponsored by the Niles District Library and The Niles Garden Club also participated in the flower show. Just like the adults they brought cut horticulture and designs, some of which were in the form of creatures, to be judged. Youth exhibits are judged much the same as those in the adult divisions, point scoring and design requirements for top awards differ slightly.
The "Seasons in the Sun" flower show was judged according to National Garden Clubs, Inc. standards and judged by National Garden Clubs, Inc. accredited judges.
