To the editor:
It is truly a pleasure and honor to endorse Scott Teter for judge of Cass County.
I have known Scott for the past 16 years.
I became acquainted with Scott when he was an assistant prosecuting attorney for Cass County.
I was a Michigan state trooper assigned to the Niles post and began working child abuse investigations that were brought to the Cass County Prosecutor's Office for review and prosecution.
Scott had a passion and a conviction to do what was right as a prosecutor, balancing the requirements of the law and having compassion for the victims of crimes.
Scott sought the truth and would let justice work to prevail.
Scott is a man of integrity and honor.
Scott has performed the sworn duties of attorney, prosecuting attorney and assistant attorney general.
No matter which role, Scott has always given his all to perform at the highest standards in these roles.
Scott as an assistant attorney general for Michigan pursued deadbeat parents who owed thousands of dollars to deserving children who were unfortunate pawns in a system of child support.
Scott is a visionary who pioneered the enforcement action, prosecuting deadbeat parents in Michigan.
I have retired from the law enforcement field and have pursued other passions to help people.
Over the years, Scott and I have always maintained contact.
Having the opportunity to spend time with Scott and his family, it is apparent he is a dedicated husband and father.
Furthermore, he has always been active in the community, wanting the best for Cass County and all people who live there.
Scott would make an outstanding judge with an astute ability to make appropriate resolution of cases brought before him, to be fair and just, protecting citizen's constitutional rights, punishing the wrong who threaten the community and supporting the victims of violent crimes.
Scott is the candidate to vote for!
Please vote for Scott Teter for judge of Cass County on Aug. 5, 2008!
