Niles teams return to action today in Little League tourney

NILES – A pair of Niles teams will continue their Michigan District 15 Tournament season today with games at F.O.P. Park and in Vicksburg.
The Niles 13-14 All-Stars will face Schoolcraft at Vicksburg in the championship semifinals.
The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The winner advances to Wednesday's championship game in Constantine at 6 p.m.
A second title game, if needed, will be held on Thursday at 6 p.m., also in Constantine.
Niles reached the semifinals with wins over Constantine and Vicksburg. Schoolcraft advanced with wins over Mendon and Cassopolis.
Cassopolis remains alive in the consolation bracket. The Cass All-Stars face Vicksburg tonight in Constantine at 6 with the winner advancing to the consolation finals on Tuesday in Vicksburg at 6 p.m.
9-10 All-Stars
The Niles 9-10 All-Star team is back in action today at 5:30 p.m. as it hosts Marcellus-Cass.
In the second game at 8 p.m., Vicksburg Red will take on Centreville.
Niles is 2-0 in pool play having defeated Centreville 13-6 and Vicksburg Red 5-3.
Marcellus-Cass is 1-1 after losing to Vicksburg Red 4-0 and defeating Centreville 17-9.
Two teams will advance to the championship round of the tournament, which will begin on Monday, July 21 and will be hosted by Niles.
There will be two games on July 21 – 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The championship game is set for Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m.. The winner advances to the state tournament hosted by Tecumseh Little League.
