NILES – Summer is the time for the Berrien County Republican's annual Picnic. The beautiful Madeline Bertrand Park in Niles, along the St. Joseph River, will be the setting for the event to be held, Friday, July 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m.
This setting and format provides an excellent opportunity to get up close and personal with our State, County and Local elected officials. Being an election year, we are assured the attendance of several prominent Republicans entered into primary and general election contests. We have already received confirmation that Representative Jack Hoogendyk will be in attendance to meet with our County Republicans. Rep. Hoogendyk is the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate seeking to oust Sen. Carl Levin this November.
Children are certainly welcome as the park offers many activities for the entire family. This is also a great opportunity to visit with old friends, make new friends, and enjoy the great food by a local caterer. The menu will include BBQ chicken, BBQ beef brisket, baked beans, sweet corn, cole slaw, rolls and beverage. Outstanding desserts will be provided by the GOP Women's Club.
Tickets may be obtained from any County Republican Executive Committee member or by calling the Republican office at (269) 983-6303. Ticket prices are $18 for adults, young adults 8 to 18 cost $10 and children under 8 are free with accompanying adult.
