To the editor:
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for Americans, and it will cause almost half of all deaths this year. However, with education and awareness, heart disease can largely be prevented.
Lakeland HealthCare would like to encourage everyone to discover their risk of heart disease – and to learn how to lower this risk. Visit www.lakelandhealth.org/heartsafe and click on the HeartSafe Risk Assessment banner to fill out a 10-minute online questionnaire to determine your risk of heart disease. It's private, simple, and absolutely free. You will receive an immediate score and information to help evaluate your present condition.
To learn more about the many free heart health classes and programs offered by Lakeland to the community, contact the Lakeland Center for Health Enhancement at (269) 556-2808 or (866) 260-7544 for information and upcoming dates, or visit www.lakelandhealth.org to view a complete schedule.
Remember, any action you take today to modify your risk of heart disease just may save your life.
