NILES – The MBA Select 9U girls' basketball team recently captured the Indiana AAU state championship.
Niles' Elyse Zimmerman is a member of that squad.
MBA Select swept through its regional competition held in Mishawaka, Ind.and then won three tough games in Indianapolis to capture the state title.
The MBA Select girls program offers a highly competitive level of play for girls ages 9-12 and the Indiana Elite – SB offers pre-college exposure tournaments for girls ages 13 and up.
Several local high school players from Niles, Brandywine and Edwardsburg are currently rostered on many of the MBA Select/Indiana Elite teams.
This program has also developed many current Division I basketball players including Sydney Smallbone (Tennessee), Melissa Lechlitner (Notre Dame), Sarah Dreher (Western Michigan) and Brandi Radde (Louisville).
