Howard Township All-Stars top Coloma, 6-1

ST. JOSEPH – The Howard Township All-Stars defeated Coloma 6-1 in Peanut League A play Thursday night at the Eaton Park Invitational.
Also on Thursday, Dowagiac All-Stars suffered an 8-2 loss to North Lincoln.
The All-Stars will return to action in the Little League C Division on Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
Dowagiac's other entry in Little League C will play tonight at 5:30 p.m. against Lakeshore.
Further results were unavailable at press time.
In other games on Thursday, Niles and Howard Township-Brawley will both be in action tonight.
Niles will face North Lincoln at 5:30, while Howard Township will take on another North Lincoln squad at 6:45.
In Peanut League B competition on Thursday, Brandywine blanked Three Oaks 12-0. Buchanan's entry in that division will play today at 5:30 p.m. against New Buffalo.
Buchanan picked up a 14-0 win over Hartford on Thursday in Minor League B action, while in Minor League C, there were no games on Thursday.
That division gets back to work tonight with Buchanan facing North Lincoln at 5 p.m.
There were also no games in Little League A on Thursday, however, Howard Township and Lakeshore will square off on Saturday at 2:15 p.m.
In Little League B, Cassopolis will continue play on Saturday when it faces Watervliet at 10:45 a.m.
The Pony League Division will be back in action tonight with Buchanan facing Coloma at 7.
District 15 Tournament
The Little League District 15 tournament continued on Thursday with Niles winning a pair of games in two different divisions.
In the Junior Division, Niles defeated host Vicksburg 11-1, while in the 9-10 Division, Niles edged Vicksburg Red 5-3.
Niles' 13-14 All-Stars will now face Schoolcraft on Monday in Vicksburg at 6 p.m. The winner advances to Wednesday's championship game in Constantine at 6 p.m.
Action in the 9-10 division will continue in Niles on Monday.
Junior Divsion action continues tonight with Cassopolis taking on Three Rivers in Vicksburg.
Big League State Tournament
Although it will not have a team in the event, Niles' Thomas Stadium will be the site of the Michigan Big League state tournament.
Action gets under way today at 5 p.m. with District 5 taking on District 16.
The winner will advance to Saturday's noon contest against District 2.
In the second game tonight, District 15 will face District 7 at 7:30.
The winner advances to Saturday's 5:30 p.m.semifinal contest against the winner of the noon game.
The losers from game one and game two will play at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday with the winner to play again at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
The consolation finals are slated for Sunday at 1 p.m.
The championship game is set for 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, with a second title game, if needed, scheduled for Monday at noon.
