Thomas M. Williams, 61, of Roosevelt Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend, Ind., following brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with the Rev. Robert E. Jackson of First Church of God, officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1946, in Niles, to Harold Arthur Williams and Muriel Aline Graham.
He graduated from Niles High School. Later, in 1968, he moved to South Bend, Ind.
He has been employed at A.M. General in Mishawaka, Ind. for 33 years.
Williams was a veteran of the Viet Nam Era, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Muriel A. (Graham Williams; father, Harold A. "Pete" Williams; step-mother, Berneice M. (Hanes-Nichols) "Bea" Williams; a sister, Gwendolyn Ort, who died in 1976 and a brother, Jack Williams, who died in 2000.
Surviving family includes a daughter, Tara Marie (Kyle) Nichols of Florida; brothers, Dan Williams of Galien and Art (Edie) Williams of Elloree, S.C.; a sister, Mary Kay (Ron) Wingeart of Cassopolis and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
