NILES – Police are trying to finish up their investigation into multiple incidents at Polly's Place in Niles Township last week.
On Wednesday at approximately 5:01 p.m., the Niles Township Fire Department received a call to the women's shelter and was on site by 5:07 p.m. There, crews and police reportedly found the shelter's home broken into and the computer lab on fire. "I would say at least half of the building is totaled," said Bruce Vosburgh of the Niles Township Fire Department.
Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Brown, which is handling the incident, said Monday that "there were four juveniles that were involved in the break-ins," but that police "haven't determined how many were responsible in setting the fire."
The juveniles range in age from seven to 11 years old.
"We have a little bit more investigation to do," Brown said. The futures of the accused will be left to prosecutors and the court.
And there is no news on just what prompted the four juveniles allegedly responsible to vandalize the domestic abuse shelter for women and children.
