Patron upset with sexist display

To the editor:
One recent Friday night I was dining at my former favorite eatery in downtown Vandalia.
The reason that it is no longer my favorite is because the management used this public place to express their sexist view of a particular political candidate.
Therefore, I will choose this public forum to express my disgust with their view and the sexist manner that they chose to express it.
Management displayed a boxed statue of Sen. Clinton with "Nutcracker" printed on the packaging.
When I saw it I told the nearest employee that I found this extremely offensive.
When we left the establishment, this "doll" was face down, probably to be placed upright as soon as I left.
It puzzles me why anyone would find this acceptable. It's not a political issue. It is a question of bigotry and intolerance vs. justice and tolerance.
How would patrons feel if there was a similar statue of Sen. Obama with a racist statement on the packaging?
Apparently public expressions of bigotry based on sex are socially acceptable while all others are not.
I don't doubt that the management of that restaurant had the right to express their sexist views, but I have the right to both express my outrage and to choose not to frequent that establishment any longer.
I hope like-minded people will do the same.
