To the editor:
I am very lucky to live in such a wonderful, kindhearted community. Since the passing of my husband, Tim Tyler, the outpouring of sympathy and generosity has been extremely heartwarming. In these tough times, knowing that the prayers and support of so many are with me is very helpful. To those of you who came to his reception and funeral, or sent condolences in the form of flowers, cards, etc., you should know how deeply appreciative I am for your thoughtful gestures. My husband was a wonderful man, and I miss him very much. Knowing that so many people miss him as well is such a great comfort to me.
Tim's constant encouragement for the achievement of my goal to serve the people of District 78 as their State Representative has been a driving force behind my campaign. When I showed Tim my letter of resignation that I had briefly drafted to end my candidacy when he was recovering in the hospital, he looked at me and said, "Tylers never quit." With my memory of Tim to encourage me, I will continue the race for State Representative.
Once again, I would like to thank the people of Southwestern Michigan for their amazing support and encouragement after the death of my husband. I hope that I will receive the same kind of support as I continue my campaign to help make Southwestern Michigan a place Tim loved so much; a better place for us all to live, work, and raise our families.
