LANSING – State Rep. Neal Nitz Thursday moved legislation in the House Transportation Committee designating a portion of M-63 as "Harry Gast Parkway."
"Harry Gast accomplished so much for southwest Michigan during his 30 years in the legislature. Renaming a stretch of road is the least we can do to show our appreciation and insure future generations recognize the contribution he made to our area."
House Bill 4173 will rename the section of M-63 beginning at the intersection at the Blossomland Bridge and continuing north to the intersection with Klock Road.
The legislation now moves to the House floor for consideration.
