Edwardsburg names basketball coaches

EDWARDSBURG – The list of vacant coaching position was trimmed by two on Monday as Edwardsburg announced both its boys' and girls' varsity basketball coaches.
Eddies junior varsity coach Nicole Cartwright was promoted to the varsity position, while former Adrian coach Marc Comstock will take over the boys' program.
Cartwright, a Lawrence High School and Western Michigan University Graduate, has spent the last two years as the Edwardsburg junior varsity coach.
She also coached the freshmen girls basketball team at Lawrence for two years and spent three years as the eighth grade coach at Edwardsburg.
Cartwright has also been the junior varsity softball coach for the past four years at Edwardsburg.
She played both basketball and softball at Kalamazoo Valley Community College before earning her Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan.
She replaces Diane Robertson, who announced her resignation at the end of May.
Comstock has extensive collegiate coaching experience and has also coached at a pair of high schools.
He most recently coached at Adrian, where he posted a 48-40 overall record, won the Southeastern Conference championship twice and a Class A district title in 2007.
Comstock was named the Region 6 Class A Coach of the Year in 2005 and was special mention Detroit Free Press Coach of the Year in 2005.
He was a head coach at Pikeville College (Kentucky), Lincoln Memorial University (Tennessee) and Emporia State University (Kansas).
He was an assistant coach at Hillsdale College, Cumberland College (Kentucky), Eastern Kentucky Unversity, University of Toledo (Ohio), Fort Hays State University (Kansas) and Central Michigan University.
Comstock played four years of baseball and football at Hillsdale, where he earned a Bachelors Degree. He earned his Master of Arts Degree from Western Michigan University.
He was a physical educ-ation/health teacher at Adrian.
