Homeowners of Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties may receive mail from Michigan State University concerning a regional study of residents’ perceptions of recreation, natural resources and conservation.
The study is designed to learn more about full-time and seasonal residents’ recreation interests, rating of water and land resources in Southwest Michigan, and support for future conservation efforts. The results will be communicated in a Growing Greener Vision for Southwest Michigan published by Southwest Michigan Planning Commission and shared widely to local, state and federal resource agencies, planners, conservation organizations, and private landowners. A random sample of residents was selected to receive a questionnaire that should take approximately 15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary but encouraged, so the data will accurately represent the opinions of the full range of residents.
