Allendale falls to Grass Lake in Division 3 finale

BATTLE CREEK – The fourth time was the charm for Bay City All Saints as it captured both the baseball and softball state championships on Saturday at Bailey Park in Battle Creek.
The baseball team defeated Lutheran Westland 2-1 to capture the Division 4 championship, while the softball team topped Homer 4-0 to take that title.
In Division 1, Birmingham Brother Rice blanked Saline 8-0 to win the championship, while in Division 2 it was Dearborn Divine Child knocking off defending state champion Mt. Pleasant 14-3.
Mt. Pleasant had edged Lakeshore 6-4 in Friday's semifinal.
The Division 3 crown went to Grass Lake, which defeated Allendale 14-4.
Allendale ended Brandywine's title run in Friday's semifinal, 3-1. (see related story).
