Vehicle stolen on Yaw Street

CASSOPOLIS – Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office investigated and recovered a stolen vehicle Thursday, June 12, at 8:54 a.m. from Silver Creek Township.
Deputies were called to Yaw Street, Dowagiac.
The homeowner reported his 1997 BMW Z-3 as stolen.
An area broadcast was made for the vehicle and Edwardsburg/Ontwa Township police located it in the Village of Edwardsburg.
Further broadcast of the two suspects' description led Pokagon Tribal Police to locate them walking on Dailey Road, near Coulter Street in Jefferson Township.
Deputies interviewed the two suspects and gained information that led to the two being transported to Cassopolis and lodged at the Cass County Jail.
Names of the suspects were withheld pending arraignment in court on auto theft charges.
Deputies worked in concert with Edwardsburg/Ontwa Township police the Pokagon Tribal Police in resolving this incident.
