Tigers, Reds sweep Dowagiac

NILES – The Tigers and Reds swept a pair of games from Dowagiac Monday night at Thomas Stadium.
The Tigers defeated Dowagiac 5-4, while the Reds posted an 4-3 victory in Senior Division action.

Dowagiac jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Tigers scored twice in the fourth to knot the game at 2-2.
A run in the fifth gave the Tigers a 3-2 advantage, however, Dowagiac scored twice in the sixth to make it a 4-3 contest.
The Tigers responded with a pair of runs in the seventh to pull out the victory.
John Carey had a double and two RBIs for the Tigers, who also got two singles and a run scored from Zeke Legus and Matt Thompson.
Wayne Marazita, Josh Mills and Aaron Grooms also had hits.
Chris Gantt singled and drove in two runs for Dowagiac, which also got a double and a RBI from Jason Turner.
Aaron Blaske added a pair of hits.

Kevin Gross gave up one hit and struck out five in leading the Reds to the victory.
The Reds opened up a 4-2 lead on Dowagiac and then held on for the victory.
Seth Engler struck out nine for Dowagiac, but was saddled with the loss.
Aaron Davis and Dustin Craig both doubled and drove in a run for the Reds. Dustin Bell had a double, a single and a RBI. Gross singled and drove in a run.
Blaske, Engler and Gantt all singled for Dowagiac.
