As most of you know, the Niles girls softball team has won the regional championship. Although there is something about this team that you may not know.
Just recently, a member of that team lost her mother unexpectedly. To see the way this team rallied around their teammate would have made any Niles resident proud. They were there. Whether they were at the house with flowers and cards, or at the funeral home with hugs and words of encouragement, they were there.
They really showed that they knew and understood the meaning of the word team. As everyone knows, a great team is led by great leaders. So to all of the coaches, all the girls on the varsity softball team and to all their parents, we would like to express our deepest heartfelt thanks and respect.
From the ribbons in their hair to the dedication of the district game, the loving support of this team will always hold s special place in our hearts. Not only have these fine young ladies proven themselves on the field, but off the field as well. They are true champions.
Again, our heartfelt thanks and gratitude.
