EDWARDSBURG – Carrie Mae Purucker, 49, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest on Saturday, June 7, 2008, after an illness since February.
She was born Aug. 27, 1958, in Elkhart, Ind., the daughter of David Herbert and Geraldine Mae (Schlosser) Fisher.
Carrie graduated from Dowagiac Union High School.
She worked for Wells Cargo in Elkhart, Ind., doing final inspections.
She lived in this area all her life.
Carrie was married May 30, 1981, in Adamsville, as Carrie Fisher, to Harold J. Purucker, who survives, along with: two daughters, Scheila (Dan) Zehr of Mishawaka, Ind., and Angela Lynn Purucker of Edwardsburg; one granddaughter, Abigail Zehr; one sister, Julie (Jim) Fisher-Fryman of Dowagiac; and three step-sisters, Jennifer (Joe) Petlick of St. Joseph, Jamie (Jose) Bermejo of Valencia, Spain, and Jessica (John) Noegel of Milwaukee, Wis., among other surviving family members.
Carrie was a member of Granger Missionary Church.
She was a volunteer with United Way and she was a member of Reason Enough to Act (RETA), a ministry she helped.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Granger Missionary Church, 50841 Birch Road, Granger, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Granger Missionary Church, where friends may call one hour before services.
Officiating will be Pastor Earl Smith of the church. Burial will follow in Edwardsburg Cemetery.
