NILES – Come out to learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters and the programs we offer and to make a $1 donation to the "Help Us Help Kids" Pin-Up Campaign to Raise Money for Youth-Mentoring in Niles.
Members of the community are invited to stop by the Niles' Arby's Open House on Thursday, June 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to learn more about Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien &Cass and the programs they offer to at risk kids in need of a mentor and to adults who are interested in becoming a mentor.
The Open House is part of a national community fundraiser in Arby's restaurants throughout the country to raise money and awareness for youth mentoring, and residents of Niles may use it to make a difference in their own local communities. Last year, Arby's raised more than $1.6 million nationwide through its pin-up campaign.
They are challenging all members of the Niles community to reach out and lend a hand to our children by making a donation at their local Arby's and volunteering to become a mentor to a child in the community. Both will be forever changed by the experience.
"Year after year Arby's Corporation has raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters all across the country. And our local Arby's is really going the extra mile. That support means a lot to the young people being mentored in Berrien and Cass Counties" said Robert Smith, board president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien &Cass. "I hope all Niles big sisters and big brothers will take their little sisters and brothers to Arby's before, during and after the open house."
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien and Cass is seeking other caring companies like Arby's that would like to partner with them. They especially like firms that will find mentors within the ranks of their employees.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berrien &Cass has been serving the community for more than 40 years. Their goal is to create long-lasting mentoring relationships by matching mentors (adult volunteers) and children with the goal of contributing to brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States. Big Brothers Big Sisters has been the leader in one-to-one youth service for more than a century, developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people. Big Brothers Big Sisters mentors children, ages six through 18, in communities across the country.
