NILES – The Niles Garden Club held their final meeting of the season at the Niles District Library with a salad luncheon.
The plant sale at the Riverfront Park was a huge success. Thanks to everyone that supported us at the sale. The Youth Garden Club will meet today at the Niles Library at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. A standard flower show will be held at the Niles District Library on June 18 and 19. Please stop by and see all the different flower arrangements.
The program was "Learning to Grow and Growing to Love Herbs", presented by their newest member Marcy Darcy, owner of Fawn Run Farm in Rolling Prairie, Ind. She discussed tips for cooking with herbs along with her personal favorite recipes.
She also had suggestions for the best way to grow herbs, whether outside in a garden or in pots on a patio. She gave some good tips on a variety of herbs, some which aren't as well known. She invited everyone to her Prairie Pride Harvest Market at Fawn Run Farm on Saturday, Aug. 30.
