LIMA, OHIO-Dean's List Announced; The University of Northwestern Ohio is proud to acknowledge its Dean's List for March Session 2008 for students in the College of Technologies. Daniel Allen Robson from Niles held a grade point average of 3.5 orbetter.
University of Nebraska
LINCOLN, NEB.-Lindsey Nicole O'Connor, of Edwardsburg, received her Master of Music Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on May 9.
Robert F. Nash of Niles High School, has received a National Merit College Scholarship. His probable career field may be in mathematics. He will be attending Hope College in Holland.
Scholarship awarded
SOUTHFIELD – The Comcast Foundation has recognized the outstanding community service and academic achievements of senior Julie Barnett of Brandywine High School in Niles with a $1,000 college scholarship.
The 2008 Comcast Leaders and Achievers scholarship program, one of the Comcast Foundation's signature community investment programs, recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership skills, academic achievement and a commitment to community service.
A resident of Niles, Barnett plans to attend Grand Valley State University and is among 139 young people from across the state to be honored this year by the Comcast Leaders and Achievers program.
The Comcast Foundation will distribute a total of $139,000 in grants across Michigan to recognize these outstanding individuals for their efforts. Barnett and the other honorees have been invited to attend a ceremony June 11 at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing.
