Brandywine tunes up for district with sweep of Raiders

DECATUR – The Brandywine varsity softball team tuned up for Saturday's Division 3 district tournament with a sweep of host Decatur.
The Lady Bobcats defeated the Lady Raiders 9-4 and 9-3.
The sweep wrapped up the regular season for Brandywine. The Lady Bobcats will take a 23-13 record into Saturday's district competition at Berrien Springs.
The Lady Raiders dipped to 19-12 on the season heading into the Division 4 tournament.
Kristina Ford picked up the victories in both games and is how 4-1 on the season.
Ford allowed four hits in both contests, while striking out a combined 14 with only four walks.
Brandywine finished with 11 hits in the opener.
The Lady Bobcats had 12 hits in the second game, led by Brooke Coshow, who singled and doubled. Becky Modlin and Ford both had three hits. The two combined to drive in three runs.
