Rocket Football to hold sign-ups tonight
NILES – The Niles Rocket Football League will hold sign-ups on today from 5-8 p.m. at Niles High School.
The sign-up is for players ages 7-9 (must be 7 years old by Aug. 1) and for ages 10-12.
Cost is $35 for first child and $20 per additional child.

T-Ball, softball leagues forming at YMCA
NILES – Registration for the Niles-Buchanan YMCA T-Ball/softball league is already under way.
The league is scheduled to begin play on June 9 and will conclude on July 29.
The leagues are for children ages 4-13. Cost is $18 for the first child and $12 each for second children of YMCA members. The cost for non-members is $25 for the first child and $15 each for additional children.

Vikings to hold boys' and girls' basketball camp
NILES – Niles High School will be holding its youth basketball camp Monday, June 2-5.
The camp focuses on teaching kids fundamental basketball skills with an emphasis on shooting. The camp will be run by varsity girls' coach Patrick Touhey, varsity boys' coach Todd Pawielski and their staffs.
The camp is for boys and girls from 3rd to 8th grade. The cost is $30.
Third through fifth grades will go from 9- 10:15 a.m. Sixth through eighth grades will go from 10:30 a.m. until noon.

Lake Michigan College hosting basketball camp
BENTON HARBOR – The Lake Michigan College Athletic Department will conduct a boys' summer basketball camp for students entering grades 4 through 9 this fall.
The camp will be held at the St. Joseph High School Field House. Cost per camper is $150.
The camp will be held July 14-17 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. Participants will learn basic basketball skills and will be instructed individually on the importance of teamwork, leadership skills and education.
Two games will be played daily during the first three days of the camp. A tournament will be played the final day. No previous basketball experience is necessary.
Camp instructors will be LMC athletic director, men's basketball head coach and NJCAA Region XII 2005 Coach of the Year Doug Schaffer and LMC men's basketball assistant coach Jerry Schaffer.
Members of the LMC men's basketball team will be assisting the coaches. A certified trainer will also be on staff.
