Dorothy A. Davis, 90, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Silverbrook Manor Nursing Home in Niles, following an illness.
She was born in Curlew, Iowa on August 9, 1917, to the late Albert and Caroline (Keihl) Long.
She was an active member and contributed to many local organizations including; YMCA Golden Age Club, Brandywine Senior Citizen Club, The Golden Ages-Pokagon Senior Citizens Club, and the Niles Senior Citizen Center. Dorothy also enjoyed embroidery and sewing. She enjoyed baking and was known throughout the community for her cookies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Davis; one brother, George Long of Marathon, Iowa; two sisters, Florence Schmidt of Ayrshire, Iowa and Edna Hoskin of Niles.
Surviving family includes four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
