NILES – Host St. Joseph, Niles and Lakeshore all went 3-0 at the St. Joseph Invitational on Saturday.
The Vikings (25-7) defeated Buchanan 17-3, Brandywine 11-3 and Sturgis 7-6.
The Bobcats, ranked No. 1 in Division 3, were winless having also been defeated by Lakeshore (9-4) and St. Joseph (7-5).
Nick Hartman, Billy Siderits and D.J. Wolnik all picked up victories on the mound for the Vikings on Saturday.
Niles had 15 hits in its opening game win over Buchanan.
Dan Holland and Asaad Ali had two doubles, while Zach Bloss, Kevin Gross, Alex Welch and Andrew Brawley also had doubles.
Welch was 4-for-4 on the day, while Holland, Mikie Simpson, Ali and Brawley all had two hits.
Simpson tripled for the Vikings.
Mitchell Plott had a double for the Bucks.
In the second game, Niles finished with 14 hits.
Simpson and Welch both tripled, whle Holland had two more doubles. Bloss and Gross also had doubles.
Welch was 3-for-4, while Holland, Bloss and Gross each had two hits.
Jake Harris, who took the loss for the Bobcats, was 2-for-3 with a double.
It took nine innings for the Vikings to dispatch the Trojans from Sturgis.
Niles had 10 hits in the contest, led by Holland, who was 3-for-5 with a triple and Ali, who was 2-for-3 with a double.
Taylor Ort took the loss against St. Joseph for the Bobcats.
Noah Udell, Jesse McCombs, Cameron Ondresky and Dominique Pompey all had two hits for Brandywine.
Harris added a double.
Against Lakeshore, McCombs had two hits.
Dan Reidenbach was saddled with the loss.
Buchanan was also defeated by St. Joseph (10-0) and Lakeshore (16-2).
Cody Stanley had a pair of hits in the Lakeshore game for the Bucks.
