NILES – Senior Jake Ferguson inked a National Letter of Intent on Friday to continue his career at Lake Michigan College.
Ferguson, who is 7-2 for the Vikings this season with an ERA of 2.15, said that he also considered Albion and Adrian colleges from the MIAA.
"I am excited about continuing my career," Ferguson said. "One of the reasons I chose LMC was because I wanted to stay close to home."
Ferguson added that he wants to achieve as much as he can at the next level.
LMC coach Eric Danapolis, said that he likes to load up on pitching.
"With our season you can never have enough pitching," he said. "So I go after as many pitchers as I can get. Pitching is our No. 1 priority.
"I start with the local area and throughout his career, Jake has done a great job. I wanted to get him before anyone else went after him."
